Research paper / book Crank by Ellen Hopkins?

So I have to write a research paper (which exacltly idk how to do) on a favorite American author (which I did not really), but nevertheless, I chose Ellen Hopkins Crank but my question is anyone who actually read it and who knows how to write a research paper. I would like to help (as if not obvious) and if I can write, reply here. IF YOU PLEASE and thank you everyone this is just the summary, btw if I disagree research papers. We need to research any subject that we want on our favorite American author, so I need someone who has read the book bc idk about this research ... that's the thing we have not given specific topics. the argument we arrive at what we are doing research

Soon she meets a boy named Adam and begins a relationship with him, and soon she thinks is in love with him. Kristina, not wanting to appear as a shy social outcast, creates an ego named Acting Bree. Soon into their relationship, Adam introduced her drug Crank (methamphetamine, or crystal meth). Her addiction grows, as his alter ego control on it. She returned to her mother's house and did not know the drug traffickers in this area. She loses her old friends and can not keep up his schoolwork. Meanwhile, she starts to date, two other boys boys named Chase and Brendan. Bree did not go out with Brendan because he has provided Meth. Then one night, Brendan convinces to come to a secluded area for a few lines of methamphetamine and she accepts, and the night ends with her being raped by him and become pregnant because rape. Chase and Bree, then fall in love, even if it also feeds his habit. When Chase learned she was pregnant with a baby Brendan, He was distraught, but said they could go through together and he proposed to Kristina. Kristina decides she does not spoil his future to go to the University of California for college, and refuses his proposal for his own good.
