Hollow Bullet

Pistol Ammo for a 9mm or .40-is a hollow point bullet the best way to go for defense?

.40 is technically the better round based on ballistics. However I prefer 9mm for its lower recoil. The 40sw has a snap-like recoil I do not like. In fact I prefer the .45APC over the 40 because I think it is much more smooth.

9mm though is what I would choose. Low recoil and low cost compared to the .40
