Rust Nos
Spark plug wear?
What does it mean when spark plugs have what appears to be rust on them, am I running lean? I have a stock 5.3L '05 Chevy that I have put a super powershot NOS wet kit on I have the recomended jets installed for 150hp shot and check my spark plugs regularly. I have tried many types of spark plugs and have now put in NGK V-power plugs set at the manufacturer gap, .44, If this is normal then I will leave alone. I run 93 octane gas and dont shoot the NOS that often. Any feedback will be appreciated, thanks.
Could this be MMT fouling? I hear it isn't something to worry about, but is this true.
MMT(Methycyclopentadienyl Maganese Tricarbonyl)
What looks like rust could well be glazing from excessive burn temperature. Usually caused by a lean condition, yes.
Can run it with no NOS with new plugs and check condition after 5k miles, prolly will look new. Sounds like bigger jets, or soon will be pistons. I'd shoot for slightly black plugs from using the juice.....safest way....
